Our work involves pest & predator control, schools advocacy, community engagement & avian dog aversion training.
biodiversity and bush regeneration
Since the project's inception, the effect on the bush and biodiversity systems of our pest & predator control work has been outstanding. Bush regeneration has been accelerated. Whakaangi now has healthy bush.
community engagement & Schools advocacy
We attend and host many community events to ensure our local and wider communities understand how endangered kiwi are and how they can support efforts to ensure our national bird survives. We also host school groups into the project area to teach them about kiwi and healthy biodiversities.
pest & predator control
The trust employs two trappers year 'round who control the many pests & predators that endanger our bush health and native bird populations. These include stoats, weasels, rats, possums and feral cats.
